US Air fare… Finding a good fare!
To find good fares, you have to play around a little. If you go to USAir you can play around with one date at a time as you try to book flights. With each date you see a series of different fares and can move up one day or back a day until you find the best combination of fares. Most of the fares were coming out to about $1200 plus tax, but then I found a $420 fare one way. Thinking that since there was $420 fare to Greece then I assumed that there must be a $420 fair from Greece so I began searching day to day. I was trying to spend about a month in Greece so I tried to keep a 30 day span between flights. I wasn not able to get the full 30 days, but I did end up finding flights for $840 plus taxes(approximately $960 including taxes) for Aug 26-Sept 24. That was a pretty good deal, but last year we got open jaw flights from RDU to Milan and Athens to RDU for $2100(2 adults and 1 child) including taxes and then got 35 euro per person flights from Milan to Athens. So, I’m going to let these tickets go… but you may want to check them out.(By the way, the last day that USAir flies from Athens is about Sept 30, so there are no October returns to the US from Athens on USAir!)
